Culture and Diversity
Celebrating culture and diversity at NBJS
At North Baddesley Junior School, we value and celebrate the diverse cultures of our school community and beyond. Through our broad curriculum, children have many opportunities to share their own beliefs and values, as well as learn about those of others.
British Values
Children also have opportunities to learn about British values: democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs and for those without faith. These are a key parts of our curriculum and are linked closely to our school values.
Experiences at NBJS
The Queen's Jubilee
To celebrate the Queen's jubilee, each year group learnt a British dance to share, including barn dancing and maypole dancing. Throughout the day, children engaged in a range of activities, learning about the Queen and her reign.
World Cup linked learning
As part of the World Cup and to increase awareness of different cultures, each class learnt about a different country. We used these areas to help us explore different aspects of these cultures.
