About North Baddesley Junior School
North Baddesley Juniors is a great school (rated Good by Ofsted in February 2023.
Our school has 12 classrooms, a resource room with a fully equipped kitchen for food technology, a library, music room, dedicated ICT suite with green screen technology, a networked ICT system with class sets of i-pads, chrome books, interactive touch screen whiteboards in all classes, and extensive school grounds.
In 2016-17 we underwent a £1.6 million refurbishment and re-cladding programme which significantly improved the learning environment - then in 2017-18 we were part of a joint £4.6 million expansion programme with our partner infant school as we both become three form entry schools from September 2018 onwards - in 2023 we have grown to a full three form entry junior school of 12 classes.
Our school is situated in extensive and attractive grounds in a semi-rural village between Romsey and Southampton. We are a caring, learning community where the contribution of every individual – pupils, staff and parents - is valued. We continually strive to offer a stimulating curriculum that encourages the achievement of both high academic and personal standards, enabling all children to realise their potential and become confident, independent and successful learners who also understand the value of team effort. In their short four year time at NBJS, we aim to prepare children for secondary school through independence and aspiration. Whenever we can, we introduce aspects of ongoing education from our principle feeder secondary, The Mountbatten School. This includes sport, science, MFL, music and many other cross-overs.
We ensure that academic standards are as high as they can be, yet we also believe in educating and nurturing the whole child therefore we offer a range of sporting, musical and cultural experiences both within and beyond the curriculum. We try to work in close partnership with parents to secure the best education for their child. We are a very happy school and our children are noted for their good behaviour, delightful manners and self-confidence.
Our most recent Ofsted inspection noted that pupils say the school is a very safe and caring place and they have a good understanding of how to stay safe.
