Geography

Our vision

At North Baddesley Junior School we want geography to inspire our pupils to have a curiosity and fascination about the world around them, its people and their place within it.

Geography builds a knowledge of the diverse places, people and resources around the world. Therefore allowing the children to have a greater understanding of the world in which they live and their part in it.

As pupils progress and develop their geographical knowledge and skills this will enable them to have an understanding of the interaction and interconnection between the physical and human processes and of the formation and use of the different landscapes.

Understanding where we live and comparing this to other places in the UK and around the world helps our geographers to understand how events in other countries affect our lives today and how they can help shape the future.

As geographers at North Baddesley we want to be able to think for ourselves and take the initiative to ask questions, carry out our own investigations and work constructively with others.
