We were very lucky to be able to take part in the NHS initiative "re-start a heart".
As a school with a defibrillator, and having had some basic first aid training last year, the children got real hands-on action learning the technique using special mannequins. The children worked in small groups then pairs, with three specialist trainers from the NHS response team. Paul Bullen, husband of Mrs Bullen (5GB) led the day.
Here are a few pictures of 6H trying it out - they could not believe how hard you had to press (there was a clicker mechanism to show when a compression was actually doing the job). All children in school had a go, and received a certificate at the end of the day.
