Day 4
A Day of Seaside Memories and Underwater Wonders
We spent a wonderful morning on Plymouth Hoe, enjoying a picnic with breathtaking views across the water beneath the watchful gaze of Smeaton’s Tower. As we sat together in the autumn sunshine, we listened to captivating stories from the past, bringing Plymouth’s rich history to life. It was a chance to pause, appreciate our surroundings and reflect on the generations who had stood in the very same place before us.
The wide-open space of the Hoe soon became the perfect setting for fun and laughter. We enjoyed time together, making the most of the fresh sea air, beautiful scenery and the opportunity to simply play and soak up the experience.
In the afternoon, we headed to the National Marine Aquarium, where we explored a fascinating world beneath the waves. As we wandered through the exhibits, we marvelled at the incredible variety of marine life and discovered more about the creatures that inhabit our oceans. The shark talk was a particular highlight, while the opportunity to ask questions to a scuba diver gave us a unique glimpse into life under the sea. Throughout the visit, our curiosity was sparked and our understanding of marine habitats deepened.
The journey back was filled with singing, laughter and shared memories from the day.
As we returned, excitement quickly turned to the evening ahead. With partners at the ready and anticipation building, we looked forward to an authentic barn dance full of music, fun and plenty of enthusiastic Do-Si-Dos!
It had been a day packed with discovery, friendship and unforgettable experiences, leaving us with memories that we will treasure long after our time away together comes to an end. 🌊✨🦈💃🕺
A message from the teachers.
A Message from the Teachers
As we look ahead to our final day together, we have been reflecting on what an incredible week this has been. From the moment we arrived, we have embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm, courage and a willingness to step outside our comfort zones.
We have challenged ourselves through adventurous activities, travelled deep into the historic copper mines of Morwellham, explored the wonders of the National Marine Aquarium, enjoyed breathtaking views and fascinating stories on Plymouth Hoe, and shared countless moments of laughter along the way. From singing on the coach journeys to dancing the night away at the barn dance, every day has brought new experiences and special memories.
What has made us most proud has not been the activities themselves, but the way we have approached them. We have shown resilience when things felt challenging, kindness when friends needed support, and maturity throughout the week. The friendships strengthened, the confidence gained and the memories created are things we will carry with us long after the residential has ended.
As our adventure begins to draw to a close, we are excited to make the most of one final day together. We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow and will keep you updated on our estimated time of arrival as we begin our journey home.
Thank you for your support throughout the week. It has been a privilege to share these experiences together, and we could not be prouder of all that we have achieved.
